Side window replacement glass for luxury car.

Special Challenges: Fixed hardware combined with scallop shape makes glass highly vulnerable to breakage. Window lacks straight edges that would allow brunt of impact to be spread evenly.

Objective: Reduce damage incidence to 0%.

Parameters: Glass must survive 8 different drop configurations from a height of 36”.

Glass rests in palm of spring loaded u-sheet. This allows the interior packaging to sway like a hammock and move in and out. The corrugated does all the work, the glass gets a free ride.

With the glass floating in a protective bubble, the stage is set for multiple drops on successive corners.

Now in a free fall, the glass is blissfully unaware that its' 'spaceship' is heading for a crash landing on hard tile laminated over a concrete subfloor.

Eight collisions later, with each corner impacted, the box flaps are ceremoniously opened and the glass pulled from its' cushioned interior. Glass unharmed, spontaneous applause.
